Questions About Blue Paint Color

Post by Delorean on April 19th 2012, 12:05 pm

I have a pontiac firebird in a light blue metallic. I don't think any of the shades of rustoleum/topside blue really match. Wondering if anyone has ever tried to make a blue that is less chalky. Do you think mixing a dark blue with silver - etc would work? Has anyone tried to do mixes of base color + silver to see what the result is?

Just get a couple of small cans and try it. There are several here that have mixed colors and it worked good. Just keep accurate measurements so you can duplicate in larger amounts.

I've mixed my custom colour with Toplac. Like Mike said keep accurate measurements. I used 3 different colours for my mediterranean blue mix (dark green-dark blue-light blue) and used seringes to measure (1 ml steps). Keep in mind that most of the time the paint will be a bit darker when it's dry. Shocked
