havent done a coat of black in three days so it got really dusty so i decided to give it a wash then this happened. one tiny little spot the paint chipped. im guessing its because it was to think and still wasnt dry.

I think that paint which has not been sanded and polished is more prone to chipping.
I ended up using no hardener on mine, and I can tell that even the areas where I did cut and buff, are a little more prone to chipping than most other automotive finishes I've encountered.

I like the paint scheme a lot too.

Post by ryan sox on September 10th 2012, 7:37 pm

so my dream of driving a muscle car was short lived. driving home from school with my buddy and his 79 c10 when a lady hit her brakes and almost hit a walker. my buddy hit her then i hit my buddy. we shouldn't of been following so close. nothing to do but salvage my motor and tranny and start an all new build.
starting to look for a new car to build better and faster.

Ouch, that happened (but not quite as bad it was still drivable) with my old '82 GT - three weeks after I'd had the whole doghouse repainted.
