That looks really good man. It's current state reminds me of Knight Rider or the Batmobile. Black and slick. The fire is going to look awesome. The toxic green flames are cool but I like the original flame color more. Just my cents Either way, it's going to look great.

The paint is holding on the state sending my registration #s. I have been busy porting and polishing the cases and exhaust system. I have also started putting some of the parts back in and assembling the bottom end of the motor. The top end is still out being cut and ported. I hope to have the paint done by the time the rest of the motor comes back. Then I get to try out my new engine hoist. Pulling a 125# motor by hand isnt real easy. I got the hoist so there is less risk of scratching the paint. It can also be used with a set of slings to lift the whole ski on and of the trailer or stand.

Are you going to have that guy airbrush your numbers on or is that something that changes every year? I've never had any marine rides.

What are you using for paint and where are you buying it from - Emerald supply?

I'm going to be starting a project similar to this (different paint scheme though) and I want to make sure I have good quality paints that will hold up on a PWC.

Thanks.

I talked to the airbrush guy today he has my hood done. Im going to get a sneek peek tomorrow. The rest will get done this comming week. My top end parts will be in monday so I can finish the motor and get it installed. Looks like im about 2 weeks from done then the tunning begins hope

Are west marine and emerald supply local? I'm in Murfreesboro, so a trip to Lebanon's no big deal for me to score some supplies.

I'm thinking about using Brightside on my next one.

Havent checked in for a bit. I got the brightside from west marine in hermitage. You could probably get it cheaper online somewhere. Emerald has a store in lebanon and I think a couple of others in the area. Here are a few pics of the ski. I picked it up yesterday. It still has to be cleared and buffed out.

Havnt stopped in for awhile. The ski is running great . Took it to the mudbug nationals in june and it took best paint and graphics. It also managed to run 71.3 mph on a radar gun.

The paint is holding up well it has 32 hours running time on it . The bottom has some pretty good scrapes but that is easily fixed. Just buffed and waxed the topside this weekend and it looks as good as the day I finished it.

Hey guys! Good to see the paint is still fying over here Laughing

Just a little update on this project, The paint is holding up great with the clear coat. It has seen over 80 hours on the water since it was completed, it has gotten 3-4 coats of wax a season. A couple of times I have had to get the buffer out and rub out some scuffs but all went well. The bottom side has some pretty bad scratches that need some touchup, I may try to get that done in the spring.

I do have another paint project I have been working on as time and weather permits. This one is a 1987 welcraft 260 aft cabin, it is almost 30 ft from pulpit to swim platform. As of now I have done one side and the top deck on the front. Im going back 2 colors simmilar to the pics the topside also has a "grip" additive in it so the surface isnt slick. I did just realize I havent taken any progress pics but I will get some when I get started again and get some fresh pics of the ski.

The blue is #4990 flag blue. It is the darkest blue you can get in brightside. The pics are of the boat before I started the blue on it now is darker.
