Black satin alt

Post by wayne57 on August 16th 2012, 5:36 pm

Tried hard to roll some black satin but it was nothing but a horrible
mess. So rather then give up on rolling the color and the look I wanted
I tried some black semi gloss. I rolled on four coats with a 60/40 mix
and it looks pretty good. The paint could have been a little thinner
cuz i had some excessive orange peel. Next couple of coats i will do
a 50/50 mix wet sant with 600 grit. I figure about eight coats
should do the job with progressively lighter sandpaper.

Will post some pics tommorow

Welcome Wayne.....black is a nasty color to paint, either rolloing or spraying, flat, matt or gloss. What kind of car are you painting?
We are a good bunch on this forum and we will help out how ever we can.
