How do these paintjobs hold up?

Post by Ludacris10 on December 9th 2007, 11:37 pm

How do these paintjobs hold up in the long run. Do you just wax or repaint every so many years?

I finished my truck about 2-3 months ago. Since then i've been driving it 75 miles each day on the interstate. I've had it through rocks, dirt, rain, etc... I hose it off and it looks just like it did the day I backed it out of the garage. Others claim that they have had their vehicles painted this way for 6+ years with no signs of change.

Pressure place? You mean like a car wash with a pressure washer? I'm not sure man. I've had those things blow off factory paint before so I don't mess with them. A water hose and sponge does plenty for me.

I've run mine through the robo car wash three times and it came out just fine! I don't use those car washes with the wands (or pressure washers either) because they do more harm than good on any finish, and don't get it clean IMO.

Yeah Martin said his beetle has been painted like this for 6 years and still looks like it did the day he finished it.

Bare in mind I only got 9 years out of my FACTORY BC/CC paintjob before I started having problems (like the CC separating from the BC).

To get a decade out of any paintjob on a DD is a decent result.
