Rostoleum Oil Base VS Valspar Oil Base

Post by VeggieBullet on August 8th 2013, 7:20 pm

Hello
We are currently looking to start our first project and very excited about it.
Looking to rescue a 94 Dodge Ram. A very limited budget doesn't allow us to get automotive paint. And after seeing what it can be accomplished with rostoleum we have decided to take this route.
Rostoleum unfortunately has a very limited selection of colors ( at least at the big box stores) and we were thinking of having a color match done.
So here is the big question:
What is better, Rostoleum or Valspar, or any Exterior Oil base paint will do the job?
Will be posting a ton of pictures once we figure the system.
Thanks for your input.

both are about the same. If you can get the color you want in marine paint then you will get better UV protection.
