Stupid question number one: Did you use a hoist to remove the truck bed? I need to do that to my truck, but I've never removed a truck bed.

King size beds, twin beds, full size beds...I've removed them, but never a truck bed.

good morning Prospector
Not a stupid question at all. This was the first time we did it also and we did a lot of research prior the attempt.
In our case it was pretty simple, 8 bolts (4 on each side) securing the bed to the frame and 1 grounding the bed to the cab.
No hoist here, just 2 guys. the SRW was A LOT lighter than the dually, so if you don't have a strong back I will recommend 1 person on each corner and you will be fine.
Your SRW bed is probably heavier than the one we had. You know how in the older days they made everything a lot heavier than now days.
Hope this helps.
Any questions please let us know.

Man, I can't wait to start on my first gen. I am so jealous right now.

We're getting a new roof on the house, and the roofers are using my garage and work area, so I can't work on the truck just yet.

As far as hardener... I don't know, I don't use the stuff. popcorn popcorn popcorn popcorn popcorn

Thanks for the good words Prospector.
We wished we had your garage to work in it, so there is a mutual jealousy?
Still no clue about the hardener recipe, will like to avoid the MS in the last 4 coats and just to 75% of Paint, 20 Penetrol and Hardener but didn't see anyone trying that formula.
Hope someone with hardener experience will comment on it.

So, based on the most common formula, we went
70% Paint
20% MS
10% Penetrol and Japan Drier

First coat was sprayed on Saturday in probably 10mins. Love the sprayer and set it for a very fine mist of paint.
Obviously didn't cover much, but we are trying to copy every step of other members that roll it on with great results.
BTW, sorry for the individual posts of the pictures but can't figure it out how to do multiple ones.
