Masking for Rustoleum Rollering! Help!

Post by nealtdavies on August 1st 2014, 8:59 am

Hey there guys! brand new to the forum and first post!

Love the idea of rollering a paint job and i plan to do so with my little car!

Its a little 80's Austin Mini. As with every mini, every part of the body is now donated from other cars and welded together so now is the chance to make her shine!

My idea that i need to ask about is how im to paint her. I want to do half of the car in one colour, and half of the car in another and i need a nice, crisp, clear cut line between the two colours that doesnt distort or bleed. Now i know this is probably easier to achieve through spraying but obviously im rolling Rustoleum!

Do i need a special product to mask? as i guess normal masking tape won't hold up too well to thinned rustoleum and may bleed?

Any advice would be greatly recieved! I suppose its the same as if your rollering on 'viper stripes'

Thanks again look forward to any advice,

(THIS IS AN EXAMPLE BELOW OF WHAT IM TRYING TO ACHIEVE!)
