Rustoleum Cobalt Metallic Blue in a gallon?

Post by WakkaWu on August 25th 2014, 12:19 am

First off, HI THERE! This will be my first time painting and doing bodywork on my own car. So far, so good. I've got the body sanded, bondo'd and primed. I really wanted to go with Rustoleum Metallic Cobalt Blue # 7521. My only issue is that Rustoleum does not offer it in a gallon form ONLY 11oz spray cans. I've tried contacting a local ACE Hardware as they color match with their own oil based brand and they said they could get me the blue base but only that. No metallics. I really don't want to go through the trouble of mixing flakes and trying to guess the concoction especially since this particular metallic looks to be purple/silver/blue flakes? Do I have any alternatives here or has anyone had success replicating a metallic/flake job? I would be spraying this through an HVLP by the way.
