Available Colors Brightside and Rustoleum

Post by 250mav on January 21st 2008, 9:12 am

i was just wondering what colors rustoleum has out now a days? might help me decide a color if i know whats out there

i seen a dark grey at home depot a while back but have looked through the forums for a good example of this color used but havent found anything. so far im thinking that might be the one if the color on the lable is any indication of how it'll look on my car

thanks

Here are some color charts for Brightside and Rustoleum. It might not be every color but it's all I could find. I also made this a sticky thread so it's easily accessible

Interlux Brightside:

Rustoleum:

You most likely have to order it.

Right, a lot of these pigments you won't find in the stores. I just posted the charts to show what colors were "available" If you want a rare color then you will more than likely have to order it online or have the store order it for you.

Ok so I've seen Rustoleum "No Rust" & Rustoleum "Professional" paints done & used on vehicles. What about another brands/colors? I hate the limitation on the Rustoleum colors and the color I want only comes in a spray. I wanted to see if another brand was usable for a better color pallet?

As I've also read on here some people are talking about a Rustoleum white and tinting...does this work? Has anyone done it?

Sure it works. It just mixing two colors together except with white the other color tends to turn out a pastel or real light color. All but red that is, there you get pink.

Well I was thinking of mixing but to get the exact color in a big quantity was going to take to much so I did the Rustoleum Charcoal Grey. I'm painting my entire 66 Comet Capri 4dr. We will see. The front Fender has 1 coat on so far but I got MAJOR bubbles when it went on and runs like crazy so the next batch I mix I plan to use less Mineral Spirits Paint Thiner. Wish me luck! haha!

Ace Hardware has a Rust Stop Paint I use a lot, from wheel barrows to rocking horse frames on the Flexible Flyer my kids had when they were kids 25 years ago...(fixing it up for the Grandchildren now).  AND they have a tintable base.  If you take in a color card, find the most experience paint employee they have, and they can mix it up in quarts and gallons for you.  It's a pretty nice paint, I actually prefer it over Rustoleum, but that's my opinion.

Google it, and you'll find a lot of info on it, and a lot of people in the Moparts Paint Job on a Budget thread have used it.

I found Navy Blue for Rustoleum, it is a UV resistant boat paint. Pretty much the same color as the Interlux Flag Blue. I found it in a cardboard display by the paint mixing station at Lowes.
