Introductions from a new Southern Indiana member.

Post by Brian10962001 on February 1st 2008, 7:36 pm

How's everyone doing? I figured I should introduce myself and tell you all what brings me here. I originally heard about roller painting a car on Thirdgen.org and read the links on moparts. I'll tell you now this type of paint job was shunned HARD on Thirdgen.org but alot of the guys on there are "enthusiasts" not hot rodders. I myself have a 1991 Camaro RS that has the notorious Cali primer problem and I can't see putting over 2000 dollars into painting this car when I paid 1200 for it back in 1999. I always wanted to pait it cheap and was going to experiment on my 1991 S10. I found Harbor Blue paint from Ace Hardware but due to the bashing on Thirdgen.org I ended up putting a temporary spray paint job on the truck that I regret to this day. Anyways guys I support what this forum is all about and plan to contribute with my build logs as soon as it gets warm enough to start painting.

Welcome!!!

No worries, many of us have heard the bashing from other forums. There are a few who tried and didn't like the rolled method for various reasons. But most have not ever tried it.

I know first hand this method is doable and if the negative nellies were to see my car they couldn't tell it was rollered.

Got any questions just ask, we're here to help! And look forward to seeing your projects progress.

Couldn't find the roller, I just dipped the cat's tail in the paint and turned him loose. Smile

welcome to the forums. Don't worry about everyone else. There are skeptics for everything. Without them, the project wouldn't be as fun. Good luck with your project and keep us posted with your build.
