1988 Honda CRX

Post by cloudbreakmd on February 17th 2008, 1:43 pm

Here is the project:

Yesterday I scraped the rust on the rear quarters and painted them with POR-15.

Next will be hammering, bondo, priming those spots and then to paint the car. I am still trying to figure out how to get some of the trim off so I can access dents from the inside as well as some of the trim on the doors.

Is anyone familiar with car trim? Specifically the trim at the bottom of the windows on the doors?

I am familar with Honda trim from that era. Feel free to ask about specifics. That bottom window trim has metal clips inside that clamp on the door skin sheet metal. You have to remove the side windows to get them out.

Typical rust it is. Although the allure of the H22 is strong, I want a lithe handler. With a big motor like that in this tiny car, it would be like driving a sledge hammer. No worries though, a turbo Si will be in my future some day.

Do you mean the inside door panels or the side mirrors?

At a crossroads right now... A friend of mine needs a car for 4 months but doesn't want to buy another one (he just sold his Porsche 944). We were talking today and agreed that he would have the car painted the original color and have the bodywork done if he can use the car and he will keep up with any repair it needs in that same amount of time. Too good to pass up.

Can't beat that. You'll just have to find another project to roll up Twisted Evil
