new paint

Post by coreyd on May 25th 2008, 10:17 pm

Im painting a bunch of stuff from a pulling tractror for a freind. He didnt want to used the rusto paint. He chose to go with the more expwnsive acrylic enamal car paint. So since he is financing it i am willing to try it.
I used it for the first time today and it really is easy to use. The paint is Dupont. Ful-Cryl system. Not to expensive but more than the rusto/tremclad. I think the whole outfit was $200. And that was for 1 gal of paint, 1 gal of the reducer and a pint of the activator. Just thought some of you would like to know in case you are exploring other paint types. This stuff dries to the touch in about 1 to 2 hours and is andable after 8 or so. And only requires 2 coats. Just a lot les time consuming.
