Clear coat problems

How do i get past the Clear Coat? My car still has a fair amount of it...

Just sand like crazy?! Or is there another way...

Welcome Jeremy. If the clear coat on your car is still good it does not have to come off. Just sand it good so there is no gloss. If it is lifting then of course those spots and a few inches past will have to be sanded off. What kind of car do you have and what shape is the paint in now? The factory paint is the best to paint over if thats possible. Just sand and paint. What color is the car now and what color do you want to paint it?
