Found a project, thats how I roll.

Post by Slick on December 19th 2008, 9:27 pm

Names Brett, just found this forum while searching for info on single stage oil-based paint jobs "$50.00 paint job." I haven't had a car that needed paint before but I'm a Do-It-Yourself kinda guy, so now that I have a "project car" It's time to learn. I'm glad to see there's so many other people out there that don't feel the need to break the bank to give their ride a fresh new look.

I picked up an 87 Camaro yesterday, which has been sitting for a year outside under a cover and the paint totally deteriorated so it's now the perfect candidate for such a paint job. It doesn't need much body work, other than 1 rust spot but it's a pretty flat out body so I'm guessing it would be a little easier than trying to roll on a very curvy vehicle. I hope to learn, and share a lot with you guys.

Here's some pics of the car:

Since it's winter, I will take advantage of that and use this time to do my research, and come spring I should be ready to roll.

Welcome Brett
A fine example of a car in need. Thankfully there is not much body work to do. It should come out real nice. Like mega said, you are not alone here so ask questions if you are not sure about anything.
