Is interlux/International the same brand?

Post by elder_uk on June 3rd 2009, 3:08 pm

I'm in the UK, and I'm hoping to get myself a fixerupper project car, something to learn new stuff one.
Eventually I will get to the paint stage and plan to roller rather than spray.

Doing some investigative research into urethane marine paints instead of oil enamels, searching for Interlux Brightside on Google in the UK brings back lots of results for International Brightside. Looks similar, but I want to make sure it is the same. I also notice that they do a matting agent for matt/satin finishes.

Just so I'm right on this, can mineral spirits be used to thin urethan boat enamel as well as oil based enamel?

Cheers all. Been reading for a while but starting to get confused.

http://www.yachtpaint.com/usa/default.asp Yes they are the same company. The 333 Brushing Thinner they recommend is a mixture of kerosene and naptha. https://secure.international-coatings.com/msds/Y333_USA_ENG_A1.pdf
