Clear Coat For Rustoleum

Post by T-Bucket Bob 23 on July 18th 2009, 3:37 pm

Hey Guys,

Rustoleum sells a clear for their paint...Rattle Can that is. How durable is this as a clear? Would you have to shoot a couple of coats and would it have to be wet sanded between coats?

Thanks, T-Bucket Bob

I've always wondered about using the Duplicolor clear coat that they sell at autozone. it comes in a quart and is like $25. Don't know about rolling it, but I've wondered about its compatibility with rustoleum.. might work since they're both lacquer paints.

I did test some of that stuff on a panel with gloss yellow rusto. did not react at all and looks pretty good.
I just suck to much to spray it yet...lol
