RUSTO PRIMER

Post by 63Falconconvert on March 1st 2010, 3:03 pm

Question, Has anyone tried to roll on Rusto primer? I know most guys will roll paint over body work, bare metal etc. My thought is to have the entire surface coated with the same primer before applying the paint, instead of a combination of bare metal, primer, body filler etc.
Not sure if this question is making a lot of sense.... scratch

Re: RUSTO PRIMER

Makes perfect sense to me. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I always like to have everything the same color anyway. I think it makes the final color even. You know and I know that bondo type fillers NEED primer on them anyway but some people don't realise that. Also I don't care, I like primer on metal and sometimes bondo and metal that doesn't leave much of the origional finish anyway so might as well prime the whole thing.

Years ago I brushed on some laquer primer and sanded it off later. Came off pretty good too. Didn't affect the finish paint job at all.

Good question.
