I'd say get a gallon if thats what your trying to figure out. It all depends on how thick you make a coat, how much you thin it out, the condition of the base coat, etc.
My car took 2.5 qts, and that was for the top half only

well I already have 4 coats on the truck! I odered 4 quarts and have used 3 so far! I just got one more quart to go so I was wondering how many coats I would get out of it? I dident thin out the other three coats right so I just wanted to know

not sure how big your truck is, but if its full size, I'd guess maybe 2-3 thin coats. If you got that much paint on already you probably have a good base (again guessing), so 2 coats might finish you up ok

pics would be useful too.. lol

I don't know how the brightside compares to Rust-Oleum in coverage, but I just painted the top half of a 1974 Ranchero GT and one quart mixed 50/50 with Mineral Spirits was good for 8 coats. There is more surface area on the top half than the bottom half so I would think if the brightside coverage is the same as Rust-Oleum you should easily get 4 coats to the Quart on the whole car.
