To Roll or Brush on T-Bucket Drop Axle

Post by T-Bucket Bob 23 on April 19th 2010, 10:21 pm

Hey Guys ,

Here is some pictures of my drop axle:

1. What should I clean the axle up with before spraying primer?
2. Should I roll or brush the rustoleum paint on?

Thanks, T-Bucket Bob Smile

As much as I hate to say this I think I would have that powder coated. I think it would stand up a lot better to rock chips and things. Just my cents

What Mike said...
But, since you asked:
1. I would probably use a wire brush on an angle grinder and then spray or brush on some rust converter.
2. I would use a brush, but if you are going for gloss you might roll it for a smoother finish.

I'm not an expert but if it was mine I'd use POR15 after wire brushing and wiping it done with spirits.. being that shape, I think brushing is easier. becomes rock hard and lots of guys use it for undercarriage work... just my $.02
