Sandpaper Question

Post by 63Falconconvert on May 18th 2010, 11:14 am

I'll be heading to a swap meet this weekend and there will be paint suppliers there. On my hit list is sand paper. I wanted to run my list by you guys and get your feed back.
My Falcon has at least 2 paint jobs on it so I want to knock it down.
The plan is to block the car by hand with 220
The rust spots on my rear quarters I will strip to bare metal
Fill my dents with putty
Weld in patches & skin coat with filler
Sand filler with 80, then 150
Prime entire car/block sand with 220 then 400
Reprime/sand etc untill straight
Roll on Paint
Wetsand with:400, 600, 1200, 2000 as needed.
So my list is:
80 grit
150 grit
220 grit
400 grit
600 grit
1200 grit
2000 grit

Any thoughts or suggestions.

Sounds pretty good to me. If you don't have one, I would also suggest a long board file and a couple of pices of 40 or so and 80 for the board file.
