I don't think it was acid rain. However, I finally wet sanded it and repolished and it's back to normal. I really do think the paint was "burned" as the sun is like a torch here.

Isn't it a great think about this method? Sand and polish without worry.

Project Update on the Ranger

Post by tbirdsps on November 30th 2011, 9:47 am

Sometimes I'm quite slow in completing tasks. I painted on a bedliner, Herculiner, rolled of course. I also wetsanded the whole truck with 1,000 and then 2,000 grit and finally a good polish. I also sanded and polished the wheels and painted the black on the center caps. The factory finish was pretty much non-existant. So, total job 18 months. I just didn't do anything for 17 months. lol!

I'm calling it done until I change my mind and change the color. Wink I'll probably put the cap back on the bed after I rebuild the windows in it. Not soon on the radar though.

Here's the hood. Note the exact duplicate of the factory orange peel. Very Happy
