your car looks fantastic! Do you think the Penetrol makes the paint any harder (more durable)

Thanks! I'll say this about the penetrol, I can put my fingernail against the paint after full cure with no ill effects...After the nxt 2.0 wax, if you lean against the car you slide right off...lol I can't say if it hardens the paint more, or makes it more durable, only time will tell....I did find this out though...you guys know your window, door and possibly bumper trim on your cars? ( the black faded trim that you cant ever seem to get the gloss back to?) Check this out....take some penetrol, put some on a wiping cloth, and wipe it on fairly thick on your trim (try not to get any on your paint) wait a few mins like 10 or so, wipe it to get the excess off, leave a small amount on it to penetrate the trim, repeat if needed, then let it soak into the trim... Back to beautiful overnight! I came across this tip on the net by accident.

Anyways, did the hood and headlight covers today, will post some more pics soon!

I used to have a gorgeous Red Probe GT 1993 model and it was one of my favorite cars I ever owned , yours looks really nice and I like the sounds of that penetrol. Keep up the good work and post more pics.... peace

Re: 1994 Ford Probe Black

I noticed something when going from a vertical panel (fender, door, ect) to a horizontal one like my hood and roof for example....The 2:1 ratio of paint and penetrol wasnt laying as flat on the hood/roof as was on the verticals...Now keep in mind the temp and humidity has dropped a good bit now also. So I went with a 50/50 mix and it lays great! Anyone have any input on this? Looks like we may have to adjust for temp and humidity changes in the mixing....Imnot worried about the 50/50 ratio either....the pentrol dosent take away from the gloss / color of the paint.

Wow, that sure is a nice job! How long did it take the coat to dry with the 50/50 mix?

My rustoleum black was no where near that black. At least not compared to the original black on my stang.

sorry been gone for so long guys...been busy, had a new baby and all....the 50/50 mix took around 8-10 hours for dry time, but i always let it go overnight to be sure.....I did notice the mix had to change slightly if the humidity and temp changed a good bit...but for the most part, on the hottest, most humid days it was 2:1 and on less humid, cooler days it was 50/50.....otherwise the orange peel would be a bit much.....the car is done, except for door jambs and final cut and polish, which i'll do once it warms up....thanks again for the props guys, will get some new pics up as soon as i can.
