Paint curing question

Post by Keegan on October 4th 2010, 9:43 pm

Would you see a difference in curing time and hardness if you used a radiant heater after painting vs. normal room temperature air dry? My major concern would be solvent trapping. I've painted a few things in the past (all hvlp) and I've run into this problem before.

The reason I'm asking is because my shop area is heated with a ceiling mounted natural gas radiant heater tube. If it helps, I could crank the heater up during the nights that I've layed down a fresh coat. The radiant is nice because it heats the objects in the room, and not the air.
