New guy from Knoxville, TN with a useful (I think) phone#

Post by joshc on October 12th 2010, 4:04 pm

First post here, I've done a lot of reading though. I'm hoping to roll my '98 International 9300. It's got the 72" standup sleeper, so I've got a lot of surface area to cover. I make my living out of this thing, so I'm planning on taking off the week of Thanksgiving and trying to get it done then, since freight is usually pretty dead that week anyway. I've been experimenting with my technique and mixture, been using Penetrol, and I'm really pretty impressed.

So yeah, yeah, same old stuff. The reason I'm posting is I, like a lot of others, have had a hard time finding someone at Ace who knows how to color match the Rust-Stop Paint. I called Ace customer service this afternoon and got a phone# for the paint plant, who will give the store instructions on how to order the paint if they can't figure it out. At any rate, it's 800-311-8324. Thanks for all the info, looking forward to getting started.

Well, here's a before picture, taken earlier this year. You can't see how bad the clear coat is peeling from here though..looks great from 100ft away! I used that 800 number yesterday, they guided us straight through the process, the guy at Ace said he had no idea it could be done.

Well, shucks, that didn't work. Is there a way to upload a pic from my computer on here without hosting it? I tried to link to one from my Facebook, doesn't look like it's working.

Alright, not to keep bumping my new guy post, but I think I finally figured out a way to get pictures up, this is a test more than anything.
