New here

Post by legend on October 26th 2010, 1:15 pm

Hello everyone I'm new here and very interested in finding info on roller painting cars.. I currently own a 41 Ford sedan that has
been Hot Rodded. It still needs some work before its ready to paint. I bought the car in June of 2009 and took an Autobody night class at the local votech school last winter. Still have more to do. Here are a few pics. Very Happy

Thanks 63Falconconvert.

I'm not sure on color choice yet. I've been looking at a lot of cars at shows to get ideas. I really like Dodge Mango Tango color.
If I can find a way to mix a color close. Here's a pic of what the color looks like.

Great project.
Just so you know, using the roller method will not work with metallic colors.

What squire said. I have tryed and tryed to do metalflake and metalic both and the particles are rolled out of the paint on the roller when it is rolled out in the paint tray before it goes to the car. Really makes me upset because I love that fancy trick type paint mad3

Thanks for the heads up guys. Has anyone tryed using pearl power with the paint? I like this color as a base idea.
It looks darker when you see it on the vehicle. I would like something with a little more orange/bronze color. The car is about a year from paint, still need to do some body work on the rear fenders and the lower cowl.

You might try playing with a color wheel for the paint color or there are several online programs for mixing colors. I used to have a couple but don't anymore but I bet Google could find a couple for you.
I answered your ? about pearl powder in your other post.
