No Garage

Post by Roadking41a on November 25th 2010, 7:26 pm

Being that winter is almost here. What have y'all done to make a temporary garage to work your projects? Living here in NC there isn't much humidity in the winter so I am up for cheap suggestions.

I looked at one from Harbor Freight , a friend bought one and I helped him put it together. First bad wind storm we had and it was in pieces. It barely held his 51 Plymouth so I know it won't hold my F150.

So I'm not the only one that needs a garage..

I had looked at building something like that, with chain link fence posts and a big tarp, but you'd have to have some pretty serious anchors to keep it together.

Yep. We just found a house today planning on moving and I will get a steel carport and enclose it.

Where in NC are you? I was born in Raleigh, but we lived in Apex, then moved to Pittsboro in '86. My Mom's from Charlotte, my Dad's from Bryson City.

Right now I am in Winston Salem but getting ready to move back to Lexington. I'm going to make the wife suffer driving to work since she works near WFU. I'm too much of a small town guy.

Yeah, I hear ya', to me Lexington is pretty ideal, it's just big enough to have just about everything you need, and a short drive to everything else. I used to deliver steel to Jeld-Wen in Lexington a couple of times a week.

No, I hadn't even heard of it, it sounds great. NC BBQ is definitely the best.

They bring in top country bands every year have stuff for children of all ages. My son did crowd control in ROTC one year and Montgomery Gentry was there. It's a time where a town of a few thousand people grow to over 700,000 for 3 days.
