Paint job complete pics....no wax yet just polished. Very happy with the results. Really appreciate all the help from this forum along the way. Stay tuned for interior pics as I move forward with this mid-major restoration....

I really like the even door and hood gaps on your car. Its hard to do with an old Ford, but makes a big difference with lighter colors.

Your car looks fantastic! The "C" really sets it off nice. Have any of the neighbors come over to ask if you sold your blue Stang for a white one.

Wow! That's probably the nicest result I've seen here. The GT/CS scoops work well with the C stripes.

Thanks. I spent a lot of time trying to get the gaps right. They're not perfect. Your right, getting even gaps AND body contours lines even from panel to panel can be tricky. I had to compromise an even gap for getting the body lines right on the driver's fender and door since i was planning for a "c" stripe.

Yeah, the neighbors thought I was crazy painting it with a roller...especially when they saw it after the first couple of coats...hardly any coverage.

One of my neighbors stopped by the other day and looked at the completed paint job...couldn't believe it was rolled...and said exactly what we all have read and proved on this forum....the paint looks better (less OP) than a new factory job on the car lots today.

agree

Interior progress:

Put over 90 Sqft of sound deadener in the car...floor pan, trunk, kick panels, roof, tray package and inside doors. I forgot to take pics before I put the carpet in, but you get the idea. On top of the new age foil butyl stuff, I put new original-type tar paper sound deadener as well. Pretty quick process....buy lots of razor blades. Currently making a new tray package for rear 6x9s.

I've decided to farm out the upholstrey. Need to finish the project.

I bolted in an old seat (from 86 GT) and went for a long cruise yesterday. Good times!

Thanks for all the postive comments and most importantly all the help along the way. I'll keep you posted how the paint holds up. I'm driving quite often...3 or 4 times a week. Glad to have back it on the road.

The paint looks great, no denying!!! But...it took well over a year to complete it...from the posts, looks like about a month per coat. I was all about a month or two, but no way my wife is gonna let me sink a year of time into a paint job...am I wrong on this???
