I have found 48 hours to be the shortest time before I can wetsand runs. The paint needs time to harden so you can be more aggressive to get the runs out. Be sure to use a harder foam block. I have actually used my finger with papte alone to get the high spots in the runs. Be very careful.

Re: Wet sanding paint runs.
Thanks. I have one of those black hard rubber sanding blocks. Would a foam block be better to use?

You could also try a sharp razor blade... works good enough for me!

The foam blocks come in a few "hardnesses". I have both a 3M 05530 pad, which is very soft, and a Motor Guard Soft Block SB-1, which has two types of foam sandwiched together. It is harder, and better for getting the paint flat.
You can get them at any paint supply house.
