I cant see them, but if they're sanding marks, hit 'em with lower grits till you find the one that removes them, or, (this probably ain't the right way) you could just go over them with spot putty.

They used that scoop on a lot of cars from the mid-to-late '70s until '82 or so. They were used on the '79 Cobra, and the '82 GT, but I've seen them on plain-vanilla Mustangs and Capris from that era as well. So it was probably an option.

I think that it came on Mavericks, Comets, and maybe Pintos and Bobcats too, but those might be different from what I see online.

Go to a big box hardware store and get some foam, cut and shape it and you are good to go. Paint the foam first and it will peel out clean.

If you can see ANYTHING when its in primer you WILL see it when painted. I guarantee it.

I think that is a Boss 429 style scoop, which should work well on a Fox - especially a four-eye. They come to a point over the opening in front, where the Fox-era scoops were straight across.

The one on the Mavericks and Comets looks a little different, so it might be a Boss 429 style scoop, and different from the Fox-era scoop.

If you like the scoop for $45 get it. You can't beat that price even doing it yourself. Of course, if you like to say you did it your self.....................

I agree with 63falconconvert,love the big and littles, has that 80's hot rod vibe!!Reminds me of my 67 fastback in high school,Had a nice set of keystone classic's,10 inch on the rear,7 inch on the front,14 inch bf goodrich white letter's front and rear, with a set hi-jacker air shocks on the back,MAN I WISH I STILL HAD THOSE WHEELS !!!!! I think I traded them for a holley carb and intake!!! still have my car though!!

Great start on the paint!

You could also go with 69-70 Mach I hood scoop as well. They were also on 68 1/2 cobra jets.

Looking good. Yellow is hot on Fox Stangs, especially the earlier ones. If I ever get a coupe, I'll prolly paint it yellow.

Plus you can join the yellow Mustang registry!
