1966 MK1 Cortina

Here is my project, been at it since beginning of March, i will let the pics speak for themselves (there are quite a few,i know you lot like pics Wink )im happy to answer any questions,and take any critisism.

thanks for the welcome ,its a 1966 MK1 Ford Cortina was green and cream now almost red with gold stripe look fo me on photobucket i can put direct link as im a newbie

thanks its Rustoleum or Combi Color as its called of here with thinned with Owatrol oil same as Penatrol i guess

i think its safety red cant remember without looking at the tin gold is going on a bit streaky but im hoping after 10 coats it will flatten out ok. Here it is at mo, stripe is on 2nd coat, the Superlite rims i have are going to have matching gold centers too.

Nice looking car. Of course, being an "old fart" I do tend to prefer the older ones, nice and clean and NO computers to screw things up.

Been a while since i updated but here is where im at now just little jobs to do im very pleased with the results,the gold was a bit of a nightmare,i had to make sure i did every stroke with the roller in the same direction ie down not up or it ended up being a different shade, then stripe finished off with Rustoleum clear



finished but not polished



and here it is as of now flatted back and mopped nearly there now




and here is a reminder of it pre paint

Hope you like its been fun doing it but im glad im nearly done but.............what a saving Laughing Laughing Laughing cheers
