Ug, what's happening?

Post by craigsnedeker on August 24th 2011, 2:40 pm

This is what happens when I am wetsanding. It's my 2nd or 3rd coat.

I used plenty of water. That was after 2000 grit, but I get the same result at 800

Actually you need to sand some more, the shiney spot's are the orange peel,You need to sand it till it's all uniform and satin looking, sand with 400 and apply two more coat's then sand with 600 and so on every two coat's, hope this help's good luck!!!!!

What cac said. Just sand until all the little shiny spots are gone. Its easier to take care of them now then later because they magnify with each coat applied. Several people have tried to put on all 8-10 coats and THEN sand and they have all said "BIG MISTAKE".

It's not shiny, at all. The pics are really bad I'll try to get better ones. It's really, really dull.

As you say its not shiny at all but there is a difference where the sandpaper has touched and where it hasn't. Thats what we are talking about.
