New guy from Washington state.

Post by muthstryker on August 29th 2011, 10:42 pm

Hey guys, figured I would join up since I started my roller project this last friday. Its a 1967 Cutlass, I painted it satin black with Rustoleum and just wasnt happy with it so I decided to make up a blue color and try rolling it on!

Pics to follow soon.

Haha nice car but not quite. More of a street fighter car.. ie the way pro-touring USED to be. Big brakes, 18/19s, suspension so the car acutally handles well.. And all the other fun stuff.

Falcon, do you remember the trosky cartoon about the father and son working on their trucks? Dad had a 56 ford truck lowered, chopped, flamed, etc and the son had a mini truck with wire wheels, strobe graphics and a bed with dancing hydraulics. Anyway, dad says "didn't you learn anything I taught you?" Laughing .
Give the kid a break, hes still young. At least he isn't going stock with it and I give him thumbs up for that.

Haha thats funny, I really want to track the car later on. Getting annoyed with people saying that these cars cant/wont ever handle no matter what you do. So I have to prove people wrong! Plus I can only follow the crowd for so long then I have to veer off and go on a different path.

The blue is a tricky mix, is almost 1.5-1.75 cups of royal blue to about 2 tbs. of gloss black. 50/50 would be extremely dark but now I kind of want to go see what that looks like.

Thanks guys, I have an 1986 CHEVY C10 thats my high dollar build, so this is my budget project. I bought this cutlass after I sold my 67 GTO because I missed it so much. The cutlass was built for drag racing and this car is extremely fast, so much so im scared to floor it! I put the car in drive and it raises up about an inch because of the torque. Had surgery today so as soon as I can type a little better I will start a build thread.

All mine started out that way then went downhill from there. However, I need the cutlass to be a true budget build! Dont want to spend more then 5k on the cutlass to get it where I want it.
