Rustoleum Primer - Roll On or Spray Paint

Post by alexandermwick on August 31st 2011, 1:42 pm

I sanded my 280z down to bare metal with 60 grit and then polished it out with 220. I'm ready for the primer, but I wanted to know if i should use rattle can primer, or if I should get a few quarts of Rustoleum Primer. Also should I use a finer grit before I apply the primer? If so what grit.

Thanks

220 if fine. I really liked the Rusto Primer Surfacer that comes in a gallon can. I rolled it on straight from the can to do my block sanding, then reduce with there Specialized reducer and the primer will lay really flat for your top coat. When you roll it right out of the car it doesn't lay very smooth but goes on really heavy which is great for filling and blocking.
