Hello from Chicago

Post by FordWagonNut on September 13th 2011, 11:43 pm

Found this site awhile ago, just been paging it, and gathering all the information of this kind of project to see if I want to even attempt it. Like most, I was forwarded the link to the orange '69 Charger in Canada. My eyes bugged out of my head when I saw that. Mind you I build scale replica model cars that I spray both enamel and lacquer paints with, never brushed on.

However, the more I read, the more I liked. Also another fella on a station wagon forum I belong to rolled his '78 Ford Fairmont Squire wagon, not only dose it look sharp, but the color looks perfect on it.

I have two station wagons, a '78 Ford LTD Country Squire that looks fresh and clean. But my '73 Buick Century wagon that has some really tired paint, primer spots, and had been hit (& repaired) but having just primmer areas. So I figured on my tight budget this wagon could use a proper face lift bringing it back to the '70s.

Cheers, Jonathan

Thanks you guys for the warm welcome! Here is my '78 Country Squire and a few of my models:

1/24th AMT Chevy Nova, WAS a SS, now a base model with half top. Dented the right front fender, made it looked more used than a new car.

1/25 Monogram/Revell Chevy Monte Carlo

1971 Ford Thunderbird from AMT, 1/24th scale.

1972 Ford Galaxie 500 in 1/24th scale, resin kit from the Modelhaus.
