1971 Camaro

Post by petieg383 on September 19th 2011, 11:42 am

All, my Camaro needs to go ASAP. I just can't keep it any longer. Too many project, too many kids. It needs to go to someone that can finish it and enjoy it. Here's a list of all it has, and it has some serious stuff on it. it's not far off from being something you can drive and continue to fix up. I love this car, but it's time with me has passed. I can email additional pics out. If you search in the project section you can find pics of the car. I'm asking $9900, but the price is negotiable.

I hope to someday use the methods I keep reading about here. I love it. Anyway, here's the info about the Camaro.

1971 Camaro

Body, Interior and overall condition:

Currently the car is white. The car needs bodywork which I'm in the middle of doing right now. It's more of a drag car/driver than anything else. I have some patch panels for the bad areas (rocker panels and rear ¼'s in front of the tire). The Black interior is 75% there and in OK shape for driving and drag racing. The carpet is crap. The seats are in OK shape. A few small tears here and there, but overall not bad. They are still comfortable to sit on, and I'm a fairly big guy (6' 275lbs). Inside the car I've POR-15'd the entire interior already, as well as the trunk which is totally done as seen in the pic below before the fuel cell, battery and fuel pump were installed. My next move was to clean the underside and POR-15 that as well.

The car sits like an old 70's Pro Stock car in my opinion with the wide tires in the rear, which was my intention when I first started building. It goes down the road real nice and straight and handles fairly well. I had it on the road as late as May 2010 before the 350 spun a bearing and had zero oil pressure. At that point I pulled the 350/T350 and sold it. Since then the engine bay has been totally cleaned (all dirt, grime sludge removed) and recently painted. The car has a lot of good parts on it. It's just a car you can have fun with. It needs more, but it's not far from being a cool car.

Here's a quick video of the car before the 350 went south in May 2010:
